
Debut in politics, Nishant Kumar remains busy with party activities

Nishant Kumar actively engages in political activities, seeking blessings and connecting with communities after joining Janata Dal (United).
Ever since Nishant Kumar (44), son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has formally entered politics after joining Janata Dal (United) on March 8, 2026 he has been visibly active.
Junior Mr. Kumar who is likely to become one of the new Deputy Chief Ministers of the State is visiting Temples, Gurudwara, Mazar and various other locations to pay homage to eminent leaders to seek their blessings after joining the party.
First, he went to the JP Golambar, where he paid tribute to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan by garlanding his statue. Subsequently, he visited the Karpoori Thakur Memorial Museum in Patna, where he paid his respects to Thakur, who was awarded the nation’s highest honour, Bharat Ratna, posthumously by the President in January 2024.
Following his induction into the party, Mr. Nishant Kumar proceeded to the Chief Minister’s residence to seek the blessings of his father, Nitish Kumar. Thereafter, he distributed sweets among the staff and security personnel at the residential office, graciously accepting their good wishes.
The only son of Mr. Nitish Kumar, who is a software engineer by profession, then visited the Mahavir Mandir in Patna to offer prayers to the deity.
As a son of seasoned politician, who knows to make balance in social equation also went to Mazar located near the Patna High Court knowing the auspicious occasion of the holy month of Ramadan where he offered a ceremonial sheet (Chadar) and prayed for peace, harmony, and brotherhood.
