Ted Dexter, former England Test captain, dies aged 86

Ted Dexter, who was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame earlier this year, passed away at his residence in Wolverhampton aged 86 on Wednesday.
Former England captain Ted Dexter died on Wednesday aged 86 after a recent illness, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) said. Dexter had captained England in 30 of the 62 Tests he played between 1958 and 1968. Such sad news .. Ted dexter was someone who always went out of his way to offer so much great advice to me & many others .. seeing him arrive for lunch on his motorbike & then sit & listen to him discuss all cricketing issues was always a joy .. #RIPTed Regarded as one of the greatest to have played for England, Dexter scored 4502 runs at a staggering average of 47.89. He also scored more than 20,000 first-class runs during his celebrated career. Tex Dexter was more than a handy bowler as well.
