Thalapathy Vijay cast his vote for the local body elections in Chennai on Saturday. As the actor arrived at a polling booth, he was surrounded by a heavy crowd and media to get a glimpse of him. It caused inconvenience among the general public.
As soon as Vijay noticed that, he apologised for the inconvenience caused at the polling booth.
The voting for urban local body elections began in Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

The elections which are being held after 10 years is nothing but a fierce battle between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). However, the BJP is also trying their best to gain ground in the state.
The election is being conducted for 648 urban local bodies and 12,607 ward members.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
