
Tamil Nadu: EPS, OPS meet Governor Purohit over fresh probe into Kodanad murder case

A delegation of the AIADMK led by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister EK Palaniswami met Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday. They lodged protest over the fresh probe ordered by the MK Stalin government into a 2017 murder case.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) protested a fresh probe order by the MK Stalin government into the 2017 Kodanad murder case at a meeting with Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami led the AIADMK delegation that also included ex-CM O Panneerselvam and other senior leaders.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
