The Tamil Nadu government has announced free of cost travel in buses for differently abled and transwomen along with a super specialty hospital to commemorate the 97th birth anniversary of former CM M Karunanidhi.
The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday announced free of cost travel in town buses for differently abled and transwomen and a super specialty hospital to commemorate the 97th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. The differently abled persons and transgender women would be allowed to travel free of cost in buses operated by government-run transport corporations in urban areas. The 500-bed super-specialty hospital would be set up in south Chennai on the premises of King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research at a cost of Rs 250 crore.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
