Taliban in Afghanistan briefing at all-party meet: Govt eyes national political consensus

The government has been called for an all-party meeting in Parliament to build a national political consensus on Afghanistan.

An all-party meeting called by the government with almost all political parties with representation in Parliament to build a national political consensus on Afghanistan began on Thursday in the national capital. While External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was expected to brief the floor leaders of all political parties in the two Houses of Parliament, the meeting called by the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry was being attended by top central ministers.
