A nursing home in Taiwan has issued an official statement of apology after hiring strippers to perform for senior patients. A video of the incident has gone viral on the internet and netizens flocked to the comments section to call out the indecent decision taken by the nursing home authorities.
The incident took place at the Taoyuan Veterans Home, a state-run facility in Taoyuan City for retired army personnel. Strippers were hired to entertain 12 wheelchair-bound resident patients as the mid-Autumn harvest festival was cancelled for two consecutive years because of the pandemic.
In the clip shared by NowThis, a scantily dressed stripper is seen giving a patient a lap dance. The video, however, showed the other patients clapping and cheering during the performance.

The incident took place on September 7, according to a report by DailyMail. But, it was met with severe criticism from netizens. The angry comments were so many in number that the nursing home was forced to apologise. According to the report by DailyMail, the spokesman said, “The intention of the event was to entertain residents and make them happy. We are very sorry for the offence that was caused.”
