Sub-inspector transferred after police aspirant in Telangana accuses him of sexual assault

Sub-inspector Bhavani Sen Goud in Telangana’s Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district was accused of sexually assaulting a police aspirant under the pretext of helping her prepare for the exams. The police department has initiated an inquiry into the matter.
A sub-inspector (SI) in Telangana’s Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman under the pretext of helping her prepare for her constable recruitment exams. This comes days after a Circle Inspector in Hyderabad was arrested for sexual assault.
Nearly a month ago, Bhavani Sen Goud, a SI with the Rebbena police station, allegedly sexually assaulted a woman. The victim, on Tuesday, July 12, posted a video online, accusing the SI. In the video, the victim alleged that Goud had asked her to come to his house so he could “give her some textbooks.” The victim initially refused, but reportedly went to his house the next day.
In his house, Goud allegedly asked her for her “opinion about sex.” Further, under the pretext of checking her height and weight, he allegedly touched her in an inappropriate manner.
The victim, in the video, alleged that Goud continued to sexually assault her on many occasions. He continuously called her and invited her to his home, she alleged. “When I told the women constables about the misbehaviour, they asked me not to reveal it to anyone,” claimed the victim in the video.
The police department has initiated an inquiry into the matter and has reportedly transferred Goud to the office of the superintendent. According to a report by Telangana Today, Goud has been accused of sexual assault twice in the past.
Earlier this week, Circle Inspector Nageshwar Rao of the Hyderabad Police was arrested. He had reportedly barged into the farmhouse where a couple was staying on the night of July 7, assaulted the woman and raped her at gunpoint.
The couple managed to escape and filed a complaint with the police, who then arrested Nageshwar Rao on Monday, July 11.
