Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has stated that those who offend religious sentiments will face severe consequences.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday said that strict action will be taken against those who hurt religious sentiments.
"I want to make it clear again that strict action will be taken against anyone who tries to go outside the purview of the law," said CM Jai Ram Thakur.
His remarks came after two people were arrested in Sirmaur district for making disparaging remarks about Hindu deities on social media.
Thakur described the incident as "unfortunate and condemnable," adding, "Any attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of the people in Devbhoomi and spoil the atmosphere here cannot be tolerated."
