Sorry Royals family: Gujarat Titans hero David Miller tweets after match-winning knock in IPL 2022 Qualifier 1
India Today
David Miller pulled off an incredible heist against his former team Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, 24 May at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Gujarat Titans lower order powerhouse David Miller has been in exceptional form this season in the Indian Premier League. Miller, who was unsold on the first day of the IPL auction, was snatched up by Gujarat for Rs 3 crore. In the current campaign, no batsman has a better average than David Miller and he has combined that with a tremendous strike rate of over 140.
On the night of the Qualifier at Eden Gardens, Miller smashed three sixes off Prasidh Krishna in the final over of the game and stayed unbeaten at 68 off just 38 balls alongside captain Hardik Pandya.
His innings stormed Gujarat to the final of the IPL in their very first season and they became the first third team in the history of the tournament to achieve the feat.
After the completion of the game, Miller took to Twitter to apologise to the Rajasthan Royals fans. Miller was a part of the Royals’ team in the previous two seasons, in 2020 and 2021, but never got a steady run of games.

He was shown trust this year by the Gujarat camp and that paid off. Miller, despite batting in the middle order, has scored 449 runs in the tournament and is the sixth highest run-getter in the tournament.
