CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland says winds reached over a 100 km/h in certain areas of the province Saturday afternoon and parts of the Island saw more than 30 centimetres of snow.
The snow and strong winds caused whiteout conditions in the afternoon. Police say they had to respond to some reports of stranded vehicles.
The Confederation Bridge reopened Sunday morning, but traffic has been restricted due to high winds.
