Soli Sorabjee, a veteran lawyer, former Attorney General of India and a Padma Vibhushan recipient, passed away on Friday morning after being infected with Covid-19.
Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, a veteran lawyer, former Attorney General of India and a Padma Vibhushan recipient, passed away on Friday morning after being infected with Covid-19. A noted jurist, Soli Sorabjee, passed away at the age of 91 after being admitted to a hospital in Delhi for treatment of the Covid-19 infection. Soli Sorabjee began his legal career in 1953 at the Bombay High Court. He was designated a senior advocate by the Supreme Court of India in 1971 and went on to become the Attorney General of India.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
