
Smriti Irani hits back at Kejriwal over MCD election remarks; stop 'crying like Congress', says Sisodia

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said on Friday that "forcing the EC to cancel elections is unprecedented, unconstitutional, and bad for democracy."
Smriti Irani hit back at Arvind Kejriwal for his remarks allegedly against the Centre over the delay in the MCD election.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday alleged that "this was the first time that the Centre has written to a State Election Commission to postpone polls".
He said, “Forcing the EC to cancel elections is unprecedented, unconstitutional, and bad for democracy. The postponement was done soon after the Centre wrote to the EC, asking it to defer the polls as it wanted to combine the three municipal corporations — North Delhi Municipal Corporation, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation," Kejriwal had said.

She said, “Only those who got less than NOTA votes and lost their deposit in Uttarakhand will accept that he [Kejriwal] has not blocked the MCD fund of Rs 13,000 crore. Why is he more interested in blocking the reform process of the MCD?”She added, “The president of a party that got fewer votes than NOTA in Uttar Pradesh, lost 55 out of 70 seats in Uttarakhand and got only 6% votes in Goa is mocking the successful Prime Minister of the country.”“Today Kejriwal held a press conference (on MCD polls delay in Delhi), I want to ask him does he know that Nagar Nigam had sought reforms last year?,” she said, adding, “Arvind Kejriwal should deposit Rs 13,000 crore in MCD's bank account.”

While addressing a press conference on Friday, Manish Sisodia launched an attack on Smriti Irani. He said, "Stop crying like Congress. If you've courage then don't run away, fight (contest MCD elections) with us. It will be a big achievement for you if you'll be able to get even 10 seats."
