The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad recorded more than seven lakh passengers in July this year, boosted by an increase in leisure, family and business travel.
With many states relaxing Covid-19 norms and the national vaccination drive gaining pace, the demand for air travel is gradually picking up across sectors. From around 10,000 passengers on June 1, the number of passengers increased almost thrice and crossed 29,000 on a single day, on July 18. In total, the airport witnessed more than 6.8 lakh domestic passengers and more than 50,000 international travelers during July.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
