Siddalinga Swami of Andola mutt and also national honorary president of Sri Ram Sene has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the suspected death of 26-year-old contractor Sachin Panchal of Bidar district on Thursday.
Addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi on Friday, Siddalinga Swami said a seven-page purported note by the victim had revealed that Rajkumar Kapnoor, close aide of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minster Priyank Kharge, had hatched a conspiracy to kill him (Siddalinga Swami) and three BJP leaders.
He said that in the note the victim accused Mr. Kapnoor and seven members of his gang of harassment and issuing death threats.
The seer claimed that Mr. Kapnoor and his gang members were involved in a series of illegal activities at the behest of Mr. Kharge.
To a query, Siddalinga Swami said that there was no question of asking for police protection as he did not have faith in the State police and the Congress government.
