Should KCR be remembered for pushing Telangana into ₹8 lakh crore debt, Congress asks KTR

Mr. Reddy criticizes BRS for misgovernance, questioning KCR's legacy and accusing the party of 'looting' Telangana.
Bhongir MP and Congress leader Chamala Kiran Reddy asked the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) to explain whether BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao should be remembered for pushing a surplus Telangana into a debt of ₹8 lakh crore or constructing Kaleshwaram project that collapsed within three years.
Mr. Reddy was responding to BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao’s comments that former chief ministers Chandrababu Naidu would be remembered for the IT sector, and YS Rajashekhara Reddy for Arogyasri and present Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has nothing to show of.
At a press conference here, the Congress MP said, unfortunately, KCR would be remembered for pushing Telangana into a debt trap of ₹8 lakh crore and wasting ₹1 lakh crore on the Kaleshwaram project that crumbled. KCR and his family would be remembered for ‘looting’ Telangana, he argued.
“Is that why KCR should come back?” Mr. Reddy asked in response to KTR’s comments that Telangana was waiting for KCR’s return. People have rejected the BRS twice as people realised their misgovernance, he claimed. Only KCR’s family members were happy with the BRS rule.
He wondered why the BRS was celebrating 25 years of existence and sought clarity on whether it was BRS or TRS that was in existence. He alleged that hundreds of crores earned through illegal means and ‘looted from people’ are being spent for the meeting on April 27.
The Congress MP questioned the BRS’s right to organise silver jubilee celebrations after removing Telangana from its party’s name and psyche. He said the BRS should at least use the occasion to apologise to the people for ‘looting’ the State.
