Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale has written a letter to Uddhav Thackeray to support Droupadi Murmu for the presidential elections.
After losing power in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena is now under increasing pressure from its own Member of Parliament (MP) to support NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu for the upcoming presidential election slated to be held on July 18.
Rahul Shewale, Shiv Sena MP, has written to his party chief Uddhav Thackeray to support Draupadi Murmu, the NDA candidate for the presidential election. In his letter, Shewale gave the example of Late Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray of supporting Pratibha Tai Patil, the then candidate of UPA, as the first Marathi woman elected as the President of India. He also mentioned the support to Pranab Mukherjee as a presidential candidate.

However, the demand made by Shewale came immediately after the all-party appeal of Deepak Kesarkar, the official Spokesperson of Eknath Shinde camp, to vote in favour of Draupadi Murmu to take forward the rich tradition of supporting women for the supreme constitutional post of the country.
