
Sheena Bora murder case: CBI tells Mumbai court about closure of further probe

The CBI told the Mumbai court that the agency would not continue further probe in the Sheena Bora murder case. The CBI had been probing the sensational murder case since 2015.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday informed a special court in Mumbai about the closure of further probe into a six-year investigation of the Sheena Bora murder case that came to light in 2015. The court record read the information as, “Intimation regarding closure of further investigation filed by CBI.” The investigating officer has been changed by the CBI and the judge who was hearing the case has been transferred. The case will now be heard before a new judge.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
