Soon after arriving in Amravati on Saturday, MP Navneet Rana took a dig at CM Uddhav Thackeray and said, “Shani needs to leave Maharashtra.”
Independent MP Navneet Rana returned to Amravati on Saturday, after spending over a month in Delhi to depose before the parliamentary privileges panel about the alleged mistreatment meted out to her while in jail.
Upon her homecoming, Navneet Rana questioned why there is opposition to Ram and Hanuman in Maharashtra, and alleged that the Hindu deities are being insulted in the state.
“I conducted the Hanuman Chalisa in Delhi in such a peaceful manner. There was security as well and I faced no problem. But I have no idea why there is an issue over reciting Hanuman Chalisa in Maharashtra,” she said, a month after being arrested for threatening to chant the Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's home.
Taking a dig at Uddhav Thackeray, Rana said, “Today is Saturday and the shani [Saturn, also denotes misfortune/adversity] needs to leave Maharashtra too.”
Ahead of the arrival of MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana in Amravati on Saturday, posters calling the couple “Dharmrakshak” were put up across the city. Interestingly, the banners have pictures of top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah among others.
The Ranas will be participating in many events including a bike rally and an aarti of Lord Hanuman. This visit is being presented as a show of strength by the supporters of the couple.
