Shabir Ahluwalia reveals he lost around 14 kg for his role in Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan

After Kumkum Bhagya's Abhi, Shabir Ahluwalia is now seen as Mohan in in Zee TV’s Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. The actor lost around 14 kg for his new TV show.

Shabir Ahluwalia plays the lead role in Zee TV's Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. Set in Vrindawan, the mature love story revolves around Mohan (Shabir Ahluwalia), who was once an easygoing, flamboyant man. However, with time he lost his charming smile and has become an intense, brooding man. Meanehile, Radha (Neeharika Roy), who is an optimistic girl, is on a mission to help Mohan smile once again. While the show has intrigued people, it is Shabir Ahluwalia’s lean appearance as Mohan which has caught everyone's attention.

Shabir Ahluwalia, who won hearts as Rockstar Abhi on Kumkum Bhagya, is now seen as Mohan on Zee TV's Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. The actor lost around 14 kg to get into the shoes of his new character. Speaking about his transformation, Shabir Ahluwalia revealed, "The transformation from Abhi to Mohan has been quite significant. In fact, it took me some time and effort to get out of my last character and embrace Mohan’s characteristics. Their looks are quite different too, so I had to lean down to look the part. I have worked very hard in the gym over the past few months and lost around 14 kg to take up Mohan’s charming avatar."

He further added, "I must add that portraying my character to the best of my ability was my biggest motivation. I even tweaked my body language to get into the character and after having worked hard to get into the skin of my character, I just hope that the audience will love Mohan as much as they loved Abhi."

Shabir said that Mohan is quite different from Abhi. "Mohan from Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan is totally different from what I played when I was Abhi in Kumkum Bhagya. I must add that transforming from Abhi to Mohan wasn’t easy as well, but I have worked hard on it for a few months now and it will surely help me play the character in a completely different way," he said.Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan airs from Monday to Saturday at 8 pm on Zee TV.
