Seven individuals, including a civil servant's son, were arrested for drug use during a pub raid in Gachibowli.
Seven persons, including the son of a civil servant from Andhra Pradesh, were apprehended for alleged drug consumption during a late-night raid conducted by the EAGLE Force and Cyberabad police at a pub in Kondapur on Thursday (April 3, 2026).
The individuals, identified as Monish Umesh, Prudviraj, Abhishek, Rishab, Harith, Ritesh and Jyothiraditya, were found to have consumed narcotic substances during checks carried out at Quake Arena Pub, located within the limits of Gachibowli Police Station.
According to the police, the operation was conducted during the intervening night of April 2 and 3 based on credible information about drug use at the venue, where a special event featuring international DJ Black Coffee was under way. Six teams comprising personnel from the EAGLE Force, Cyberabad Narcotics Police Station and Gachibowli police were formed to carry out the raid.
Police said prior intelligence gathering led to the identification of 64 individuals suspected of drug consumption. Without disrupting the event, the teams conducted a surprise check and initially shortlisted five persons for testing. Using ABONN urine drug test kits, four tested positive for marijuana and benzodiazepine.
Further testing led to the identification of three more individuals who tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine. In total, seven persons were confirmed to have consumed drugs.
Police said the individuals, during questioning, admitted to drug consumption. Information regarding their contacts and possible supply networks was collected, and their parents or guardians will be informed to facilitate de-addiction measures.
