
Seven held for murder of businessman in Telangana

The motive for the murder was the victim’s alleged illicit relationship with some of the accused's wives. He was also involved in financial disputes as his real estate business was doing very well.
Seven people were arrested on Saturday, January 29, for the brutal murder of a real estate businessman in Telangana. The victim’s head and torso were drowned in different water bodies around Sanga Reddy district.
Police said the motive for the murder was the victim’s alleged illicit relationship with the accused's wives apart from financial disputes. It was hired assailants who killed the victim.
35-year-old K Raju went missing on Tuesday. On Wednesday, his brother, K Gopal, lodged a police complaint. By verifying call data records, police traced the people he spoke to last.
When the police questioned the suspects, they found out that Raju had been murdered. A few of his relatives were also involved in the murder conspiracy. The relatives are Kadavath Ram Singh, Kadavath Venkatesh, Kadavath Mallesh, Wadithya Balu Naik, Kadavath Jayapal, Shankar.
Police said as quoted by The Times of India, “The victim was into real estate. He dominated others and developed many illicit relationships, including with the wives of a few accused. The relatives engaged Ramesh, Vishnu and Madhu to kill Raju as they bore a grudge against him.”
Madhu, posing as a buyer, laid a trap for the victim. The hired assailants met Raju at a real estate venture and consumed liquor. They killed the victim with an axe and knife.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
