
SEBI officer hangs self to death at Mumbai residence

A SEBI officer allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Tilak Nagar area of East Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Wednesday.
A Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) officer allegedly hanged himself to death at his residence in Tilak Nagar area of East Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Wednesday. Abhishek Sampatrao Deshmukh (25), who was posted as an Assistant Manager with SEBI in Mumbai, allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling of his room in Tilak Nagar colony in Chembur. Deshmukh's friend Rakesh Mohan rushed him to the Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopar after he found him hanging from the ceiling in his room. Doctors declared Deshmukh dead before he was admitted to the hospital
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
