Savannah Guthrie has returned to the "Today" studio to thank her colleagues for their support amid the ongoing search for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie.
A "Today" spokesperson shared that Guthrie, who has been off the air at NBC morning show for more than a month while authorities in Arizona search for her missing mother, paid a visit to the "Today" studio on Thursday, March 5. She did not appear on the air. The NBC statement also confirmed that Guthrie intends to return to the show. A timeline was not provided.
"Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her 'TODAY' colleagues," the statement said. "While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home."
Jenna Bush Hager said on the air Thursday that it "felt so good to hug" Guthrie.
"She said that she has the intention to return to the show, even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it's also her home, and where she feels so loved, and she is beyond loved here," Hager said.
