Sakhi One Stop Centres helping to ensure safety, dignity of women: NTR Collector

NTR Collector highlights Sakhi One Stop Centres' role in ensuring women's safety, dignity, and justice in Vijayawada.

Sakhi One Stop Centres (OSC) go a long way in ensuring the safety, dignity and justice for women, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha on Wednesdsay (February 4).

He was speaking after flagging off a vehicle allotted to the Sakhi One Stop Centre, at the Collectorate in Vijayawada. He also inaugurated an IGNITE cell, established on the premises by the District Women and Child Welfare department.

The District Collector said the Sakhi One Stop Centre plays a crucial role in preventing violence against women and in providing immediate and comprehensive assistance to the affected women. With the introduction of the special vehicle, services such as rapid counselling, medical assistance, police support and legal aid can be provided to victims immediately, he said.

The Collector added that the government was working tirelessly to promote women’s empowerment and to support them in becoming entrepreneurs. District Women and Child Welfare Officer Ruksana Sultana Begum, Anganwadi workers, Sakhi One Stop Centre staff and District Child Protection Unit staff participated in the programme.
