Rich tributes were paid to the heroes of the war between India and Pakistan in 1971, which led to the creation of Bangladesh, at the Sea War Memorial in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday as part of the Navy Day celebrations organised by the Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
The Navy personnel paid homage to the personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the 1971 war, said a release.
Rear Admiral Chetan Chandegave, Flag Officer Submarines, laid a floral wreath at the Victory at Sea War Memorial.
Visakhapatnam Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi, GVMC Commissioner P. Sampath Kumar, VMRDA Commissioner K.S. Vishwanathan also piad rich tributes to the war heroes.
