Remdesivir: RTI activist Saket Gokhale seeks police enquiry against Devendra Fadnavis
India Today
In a letter to Maharashtra's home minister, RTI activist Saket Gokhale questioned how a "private individual like Fadnavis" obtained Remdesivir stock from Gujarat when the sale is only permitted to the government.
RRTI activist Saket Gokhale has written a letter to the Maharashtra home minister seeking a preliminary police probe into a purported Remdesivir order by the BJP as party leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed. Saket Gokhale demanded that the police should register an FIR if it found evidence of foul play in the case. Devendra Fadnavis, who is the Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra, was seen at the Vile Parle police station on Saturday night after the police seized consignment of Remdesivir. Saket Gokhale linked the Remdesivir consignment to the stability of the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra. Saket Gokhale said, "This issue is not only a grave threat to the stability of the government of Maharashtra but also an affront to the millions of residents of Maharashtra who are desperately searching and scrambling for Remdesivir in the middle of this pandemic while it is hoarded by an Opposition party illegally."More Related News
