Jaipur district coordinator Pradeep Parashar has been arrested in connection with the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) question paper leak case.

In a new development in the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) question paper leak case, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of police arrested REET Jaipur district coordinator Pradeep Parashar. Ashok Rathore, Additional Director General of Police, said that the SOG Group arrested Jaipur district coordinator in connection with the REET paper leak.

Earlier, the Ashok Gehlot government sacked the chairman of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, D P Jaroli, and suspended the Board secretary Arvind Kumar Sengwa as well as two others in connection with the case.

An ANI report revealed that the role of Parashar came into the spotlight during the interrogation of another accused, Ramkripal Meena. Meena, who was employed by the district coordinator for the purpose of security of papers at Shiksha Sankul in Jaipur was arrested in this case. Meena allegedly stole the paper from Shiksha Sankul and gave it to Udaram Vishnoi. Vishnoi is accused of circulating the paper, a PTI report said. The offices of the education department are located at the Shiksha Sankul building.

On Saturday, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members held protests outside Dr Radhakrishnan Shiksha Sankul, Jaipur over the REET paper leak matter, demanding a CBI enquiry.

An official statement stated that a total of 36 people have been arrested in this case so far. The state government had suspended government officers, teachers, education department employees and police personnel suspecting their involvement in cheating in REET 2021.

Earlier, PTI reported that the Rajasthan government has also decided to introduce a bill in the upcoming budget session in the Assembly with strict provisions to check paper leaks and cheating in examinations.

As per the official sources, the government has also decided to form a committee headed by a retired judge of the High Court to give suggestions to ensure that such paper leak incidents do not happen in the future and exams are conducted in a fair manner.
