Delhi Police has made two more arrests in the Red Fort violence case. While one of the two had allegedly assaulted a policeman on duty at the Red Fort during the Republic Day violence, the other is a habitual offender and was trying to flee the country.

Accused Maninderjit Singh, who is a Dutch national and is settled in Birmingham, UK, has been arrested from the Delhi airport while he was trying to flee India with forged travel documents. A lookout circular notice had been issued against him. The other accused, Khempreet Singh, had assaulted the police personnel on duty inside the walls of Red Fort with a spear, said the police. He was absconding and had willfully evaded arrest.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
