Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai slammed the Congress party’s protest against the rise in prices. He said, “The Congress party has no moral right to protest. The credit and record for the highest price rise in the country goes to the Congress party.”
The Congress party has no moral right to protest against price rises, said Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on Monday, April 11. “The credit and record for the highest price rise in the country goes to Congress,” said the CM. The Congress party has been protesting against the rise in fuel prices and also against the rise in prices of essential commodities.
Speaking to the media, he said that the protest by Congress lacked credibility. Replying to a question about the protest by Popular Front of India (PFI) students, he said that a committee headed by the Chief Justice is examining the issue and a decision would be taken after getting a report from the committee.
He also denied reports that Sumalatha Ambareesh was joining the BJP. "She had come to invite me to her niece's wedding. We also discussed some developmental works," Bommai said.
The chief minister is heading to Udupi today to participate in a slew of development programmes. He is scheduled to participate in organisational meetings of the BJP on Tuesday, April 12.
