Karen Huger, who was found guilty of driving under the influence in December, will only serve one year.
Karen Huger, a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison with one year suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol in March 2024.
Huger was arrested in March 2024 in Potomac, Maryland, after crossing a center median, hitting street signs and finally crashing on the side of the road.
Police bodycam footage shows Huger telling police officers that someone ran her off the road. Later, after being placed in a police car, she tells the officer, “When you google me, you’re going to be so ashamed of yourself.”
At the time, the reality star faced multiple charges, including a DUI and DWI, negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, and recklessly driving a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property. Huger was found guilty of seven of eight charges in December 2024.
As a part of her sentence, Huger was also fined $2,900. She will not be allowed to drive for a year after she’s released from prison and will be on supervised probation for five years. She will have a breathalyzer in her car that will prevent it from starting unless the driver is sober enough to drive.
