Senior JD(U) leaders and legislators have authorised Nitish Kumar to take the final decision regarding selection of the party’s lone candidate for the Rajya Sabha polls, slated to be held on June 10.
RCP Singh’s return to Delhi on the day filing of nominations kicked off has once again renewed conjecture of a rift between him and Nitish Kumar. Sources told India Today that the two have not spoken to each other for the last few days.

The Bihar CM was on a tour to Nawada, Nalanda and Gaya on Tuesday when the Rajya Sabha MP left for Delhi. RCP also did not respond to media queries at Patna airport while returning to the national capital.
Amid suspense over RCP's fate, the Union Minister’s Twitter bio has sent rumour mills churning. In his Twitter bio, RCP Singh mentions that he is the Union Steel Minister, a Rajya Sabha MP, a 1984 batch IAS officer, a 1982 batch IRS officer and an alumnus of JNU. He has omitted the fact that he is a JD(U) leader.
What’s more, the cover picture in RCP's Twitter account is of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has again got tongues wagging.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
