Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t want to appear on Koffee with Karan given his history, reveals Karan Johar

Ranbir Kapoor has made it clear to Karan Johar that he doesn’t want to be a part of his show, Koffee with Karan. Ranbir last appeared on Karan’s show in 2016.

Karan Johar is all set to return with season 7 of his famous reality TV show Koffee With Karan. While stars like Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday will be making an appearance, Ranbir Kapoor has declined to be a part of KWK. During a recent interview, host Karan Johar revealed the same. Ranbir made his last appearance on the show in 2016 with Ranveer Singh.

Koffee With Karan features Karan Johar chatting with new celebrity faces in every episode. While the show garners popularity for its famous guests, it is also known for celebs dropping scandalous gossip and opinions on air. However, it seems like Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t want to associate himself with any scandals. He made the same clear back in 2017 too when he said on the AIB Podcast, “I am (tired). I was forced this season. I told him ‘I don’t wanna come’. Me and Anushka (Sharma, his co-star in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) were actually going to protest and bring the entire film industry together because it’s not fair.”

Now, Karan Johar has revealed the actor has declined to be a part of Koffee With Karan. During an interview with Film Companion, the filmmaker said, "Ranbir Kapoor has already told me 'I am not coming on your show'. He is like, 'I'd have to pay the price for too long. I should not do this to myself'." Imitating Ranbir, Karan added, "Mujhe please show pe mat bulao (Please do not invite me to your show)."

On May 4, Karan Johar pranked us with a note that said his iconic chat show Koffee With Karan won’t be returning. His note ended with three dotes that denoted continuation, but we were too heartbroken to notice. It was only in the evening that we knew why. The producer-director announced that Koffee With Karan (KWK) won’t be back on TV, instead, will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. Hardly three days after his announcement, Karan shared a photo of the iconic Koffee With Karan mug and announced that the shooting has started.

Koffee with Karan season 7 will stream on Disney+ Hotstar, instead of being telecast on Star World.
