Ramayan's Sita, Dipika Chikhlia says pictures in school uniform was a mistake, never wanted to hurt my fans

Ramayan star Dipika Chikhlia clarified that she 'wasn't drinking alcohol' after getting trolled for her school uniform photo. The actress said that she never wanted to hurt her fans as she knows that people she her as Sita.
Dipika Chikhlia rose to fame after portraying the character of Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. However, with fame comes its side effects as well. Every social media post of the actress is scrutinised by her followers and she is also targeted by trolls. Recently, the actress shared pictures of herself in school uniform from a get-together. A glass of drink could be seen in her hand. She was trolled for the picture and many also asked if she was drinking alcohol.
After getting trolled for her school uniform picture, Dipika Chikhlia decided to delete the post. Speaking to ETimes, the Ramayan actress said she never expected to get trolled for the picture. She said, "I never want to hurt my fans. I am feeling bad that I have been trolled. I am feeling bad that I have hurt my fans' sentiments. I am aware that people see me as Sita and not as Dipika."
On Sunday, May 22, Dipika Chikhlia posted a set of pictures with her friends. In the photos, she was seen in a white shirt, skirt, sneakers and a necktie.She wrote in the caption, "Off to school on a Sunday." However, after getting trolled, she deleted her post.
When asked what prompted her to delete her post, she added, "Absolutely. I realised people had got unhappy. There's enough happening in the world. Why add one more issue?"
Dipika Chikhlia is addressed as Sita ji even 35 years after the show originally ran, such is the impact of Ramayan. Post Ramayan, Deepika was seen in popular shows like Sword of Tipu Sultan and Vikram aur Betaal. She was last seen in Bala as Yami Gautam's mother and will soon be seen in the Hindi film, Ghalib.
