
Rajeev Bhattacharya is the new Tripura BJP chief

Rajeev Bhattacharya has been appointed as the BJP's new state unit chief in Tripura.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, August 25, appointed Rajeev Bhattacharya as the new party chief for Tripura.
“Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president JP Nadda has appointed Rajeev Bhattacharya as the new Tripura party chief”, read a letter signed by party’s national general secretary Arun Singh.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manik Saha was holding an additional charge as state BJP president.
Earlier in the day, Bhupendra Chaudhary, a minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led government, was appointed as the BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit chief.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
