
Raj Kundra files appeal in Bombay HC against sessions court's decision to reject his bail plea

After a sessions court in Mumbai had rejected his anticipatory bail plea in connection with a cybercrime case, Raj Kundra filed an appeal against it in the Bombay High Court on Friday.
Raj Kundra filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court on Friday against the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by a sessions court in Mumbai in connection with a case registered by the cybercrime police in November 2020. Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra was named in an FIR registered against 14 OTT platforms and web portals for obscene content based on a complaint from a retired customs official.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
