R Madhavan wants Alia Bhatt and Kartik Aaryan in RHTDM remake | Exclusive

R Madhavan, in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, reveals who, according to him, can reprise his role in the RHTDM remake. He is currently promoting Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

R Madhavan shot to fame with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, where he was seen alongside Dia Mirza. Their onscreen pairing received a lot of love and appreciation from fans. Even though RHTDM did not do box office wonders at the time of release, it went on to become a fan favourite. With the never-ending buzz around its remake or a sequel, we asked R Madhavan about his dream cast for the RHTDM remake.

Speaking to IndiaToday.in, R Madhavan said that he doesn’t think a remake will be made. However, when insisted, he did drop in two names who could possibly take on his role as Madhav. “I don’t think the film will be made, but I don't know who else I will cast. But maybe, Kartik [Aaryan]," and added "Alia Bhatt, maybe," when asked about the female lead. Madhavan also mentioned his dream co-star, is none-other-than Jennifer Anniston.

For those unversed, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was released in 2001, and also starred Saif Ali Khan in a brief role.

R Madhavan is currently promoting his film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, where he will be seen playing the titular role. The film was also presented as an Indian selection at Cannes 2022 and had a world premiere there. The film even got a standing ovation from the attendees, as per the information received.

Madhavan has directed, written, and produced Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film is all set for a release on July 1, 2022. The actor donned the director's hat for the first time for the film. He mentioned that it was a nerve-wrecking experience, and he would not be doing more directional projects in the near future. The film also has Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya making cameos.
