The Pune police have arrested 10 people, including the son of a famous Marathi actor, for allegedly obtaining dormant account details worth Rs 216 crore in several banks in a fraudulent manner with the intention of selling the data.
The son of famous Marathi actor-producer Ravindra Mankani is among ten people who have been arrested on charges of selling data of dormant bank accounts worth Rs 216 crore rupees in Pune. Another accused in the case is the owner of a regional news channel who was ready to buy this data. The Pune Cyber Cell has nabbed 10 people, accused of planning to sell data of dormant bank accounts.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
