An official from the Puducherry department of school education earned praise from the LG for enrolling his son in a government school.
Director of School Education PT Rudra Goud shot to lime light as he enrolled his son in a government-run school instead of opting for an education in private schools. The director’s son, Anshu Gosh, was enrolled in a government middle school in LKG class on Monday as the schools reopened for LKG and UKG classes after a gap of almost two years due to the pandemic.
Speaking to the news agency PTI, PT Rudra Goud stated that he did not have any particular reason behind his decision to enroll his son in a government school.
He added that he himself had studied in Telugu Medium till class 7, after which he switched to English medium.
The school follows the CBSE syllabus and offers English as a language of instruction, in accordance with the administration's decision that all schools up to class 5 follow the CBSE model of education.
The school education department official was also praised by Puducherry Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for his decision on Tuesday.
She further said that the director has displayed immense faith in government-run institutions.
