Prince Harry gave a special mention to his wife Meghan Markle while delivering a speech at an event in New York on Monday.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a stylish appearance at the United Nation’s event on Nelson Mandela International Day (July 18) in New York. The couple made a twinning sartorial statement as they complemented each other in black ensembles. The Duke of Sussex also delivered a speech at the UN General Assembly and called his wife Meghan his ‘soulmate’.
He gave a special shout-out to his wife while speaking about his love for Africa. He revealed it was during their Africa trip that he realised Meghan was his soulmate.
"For most of my life, it has been my lifeline, a place where I found peace and healing time and time again. It's where I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife,” Prince Harry said.
Meghan and Harry have visited Africa many times together. They even visited Botswana early in their relationship after a few dates.
"I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. We camped out with each other under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic,” Prince Harry said in an interview after his engagement with Meghan.
Harry also opted for a diamond from Botswana as the centrepiece for Meghan’s engagement ring. The diamond, reminiscent of the special place, is flanked by two small diamonds from Princess Diana’s personal collection.
As for the event, Meghan kept it formal in a black top with a black pencil skirt. Prince Harry, on the other hand, wore a black suit with a white shirt.
