Price hike in LPG cylinders adds to common Indians' miseries, petrol and diesel remain expensive

While the price increase for LPG cylinders exacerbates the plight of ordinary Indians, petrol and diesel continue to be outrageously costly.
The hike in gas cylinders and petrol prices has once again impacted the common man, who has been forced to bear the brunt of inflation.
India Today visited a family household in Lucknow to learn more about the impact of the hike in fuel rates and how the average person is dealing with it.
Hariram Yadav (46) said that the price of gas cylinders was raised just after the elections, which has a direct impact on his monthly budget, as their LPG consumption is high.
He further said that now that the price of petrol has begun to rise again, it will increase his monthly expenses even more, leaving him with no choice but to cut back on consumption.
Kamla Devi (44) said that she uses LPG gas four times per day and that her monthly LPG gas consumption is high, with a cylinder lasting only 25 days.
According to Kamla Devi, the recent increase in the price of LPG gas has directly impacted her monthly budget, forcing her to cut back on luxury items.
Bhupendra Singh Negi, 36, a private firm employee who arrived at a petrol pump to fill his tank, said the government must recognise that the price of petrol directly affects a middle-class family and that daily increases in petrol prices have a long-term impact on their monthly budget.
