
President gives assent for appointment of 10 high court judges

President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent for the appointment of ten high court judges on Tuesday.
Advocate Anish Dayal has been appointed as a judge of the Delhi High Court. Meanwhile, nine additional judges of Madras High Court have been appointed as judges of the high court.
Two judicial officers have been appointed addition judges in the Calcutta High Court while an advocate has been given the same post in the Delhi High Court. In the Madras High Court, an additional judge has been given a fresh one-year term.
The Department of Justice in the law ministry issued a notification announcing their appointments.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
