Pramod Sawant will be Goa's chief minister for the second consecutive term.
Sitting Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was declared the leader of BJP’s legislature party today at a party meeting that was attended by several senior leaders, including Narendra Singh Tomar, who was deputed to the state as a central observer by the party during the Goa assembly elections.
Sawant, who will remain as the leader of BJP’s legislature party in Goa for the next five years, will continue as the chief minister of the state for his second consecutive term. This is the BJP's third consecutive government in the state.
Sawant was the unanimous choice at the meeting. The BJP will stake their claim to form the government in the state shortly.

“The main issue of the legislature party meeting was to select the leader of the party. The members were asked for a name and Vishwajeet Rane proposed Pramod Sawant’s name. The proposal was supported by other leaders. We asked them if they had any name in mind. But everyone extended their support to Sawant,” he added.
