A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped during the birthday party of local TMC leader Samar Goala's son Braj Gopal Goala. The accused was arrested by the police yesterday.

A PIL has been filed in the Calcutta High Court in connection with the case of a 14-year-old girl who died after allegedly being raped by the son of a local TMC leader. Meanwhile, the BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in Ranaghat on Monday.
-A 14-year-old girl had gone to the birthday party of local TMC leader Samar Goala's son Braj Gopal Goala (21) on April 5, where she was allegedly raped.
-The victim's family have accused the TMC leader's son Braj Gopal Goala (21) of raping the minor.
-Braj Gopal was arrested by the police yesterday and will be produced before the court today.
-The body was cremated without an autopsy. The victim's family alleged they were under pressure from the TMC leader.
-According to the victim's father, the girl and Braj Gopal were in a love relationship.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
