
Politics at home; at Davos World Economic Forum all states represent one India: Aditya Thackeray

Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray said that the six states attending the World Economic Forum were representing India as one and had left all politics back home.
Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, has said that all parties had put their rivalries behind and were representing India on behalf of their state governments at the global event.
“Here we are all Indians. This is for our country,” he said.
Speaking on the competition over inviting investments to their respective states, Thackeray said: “Healthy competition is always good. We are trying to charm investors, of course. But in the end, we are all bringing it [investments] home to India.”
He said that the state had signed around 24 MoUs worth Rs 30,000 crore with 6-8 countries at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Earlier, Thackeray inaugurated the Maharashtra pavilion at Davos with ministers Subhash Desai, Nitin Raut and other leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
The WEF started on May 22 and will continue till May 26.
“We signed around 24 MoUs worth Rs 30,000 crore with 6-8 countries here. I had a good meeting with representatives of HCL as well,” he said.
Speaking about the politics in India, Aditya Thackeray said: “Back home is a different story with another level of politics. There is a little annoyance with the kind of politics and the Opposition. But here, we are for the country.”

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
