Pitbull that mauled woman to death in Lucknow handed over to owner

The owner has given his dog to one of his close relatives. He refused to reveal the identity of the person who adopted the dog.

The pitbull, which had mauled its owner’s mother to death, has been given returned to the owner in Lucknow.

The owner, Amit, has given his dog to one of his close relatives, who is a dog lover. He refused to reveal the identity of the person who adopted the dog.

The Lucknow civic body completed all the legal documentation and formalities before handing over the dog to its owner.

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation had shifted the dog to the Nagar Nigam's animal birth control centre after it attacked Amit’s mother and kept it under observation for its behaviour.

The victim was a retired teacher who lived with her son - a gym trainer, and his two pet dogs - a pitbull and a labrador in Lucknow’s Kaiserbagh area. The dog which attacked the woman was brought home three years ago.
