
People, NGOs keen on adopting Pitbull that killed elderly owner in Lucknow

Nearly half a dozen Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have approached the Lucknow Municipal Corporation for adopting a Pitbull dog that killed its elderly owner in Lucknow.
Half a dozen NGOs and similar organizations have come forward to adopt a Pitbull dog that mauled its 82-year-old elderly female owner to death in Lucknow. Not only this, but half a dozen other common people have also contacted the Municipal Corporation to adopt the Pitbull dog.
The deceased was a retired teacher who lived with his gym trainer son and his two pet dogs - a pitbull and a labrador in the Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow. The dog which attacked the woman, named Brownie, was brought home three years ago.
The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) then shifted the dog to Nagar Nigam's animal birth control centre. He was kept in observation by four members of the panel to examine his behaviour.
Now, many NGOs and common people are interested in adopting the dog who inflicted severe wounds on its owner and killed her.
While Maneka Gandhi has asked the authorities to give Pitbull back to its owner Amit, the Municipal Corporation has said that it would take action according to the rules.
According to Dr Arvind Rao, Joint Director Animal Welfare, Municipal Corporation, “Maneka Gandhi has asked authorities to give Pitbull to its owner Amit over the phone, although the Municipal Corporation has said that further action will be taken as per the rules.”
Half a dozen NGOs have approached the Municipal Corporation to adopt the Pitbull including NGOs from Bangalore, Delhi, Lucknow and other parts of the country.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
