Thousands of students who appeared for Railway Recruitment Board's (RRB's) Non-Technical Popular Categories exam 2021, blocked railway tracks for five hours at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna alleging discrepancies in the results.
Chaotic scenes were witnessed and train services were disrupted in many parts of Bihar as thousands of students, who appeared for Railway Recruitment Board's (RRB's) Non-Technical Popular Categories exam 2021, staged a protest at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna on Monday evening.
The aspirants alleged discrepancies in the results of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and blocked the Kolkata-New Delhi main railway line Bihar Sharif station, news agency ANI reported.
The police forces and district administration finally managed to clear the protest at around 10 pm in the night.
The reports said that the aspirants were unhappy over the 'inaccurate exam results' and alleged discrepancies in the RRB results of group D. A report published in the Hindustan Times (HT) says that the students were reportedly protesting against the government's move to hold two exams.
The students claimed that the RRB notification issued in 2019 claimed that there was only one examination mentioned and now they have accused the officials of playing with the future of the students.
"The Railway Recruitment Board has created a discrepancy in the results of group D and now our future appears bleak," a protestor was quoted by ANI as saying.
However, denying the claims, the Ministry of Railways issued a clarification stating that the second stage of exam was clearly mentioned in the notification.
