Patient’s family asked to pay Rs 3,800 for autopsy at Lucknow hospital, video goes viral

The video of KGMU’s Post Mortem House shows the hospital staff allegedly asking the patient’s family to pay Rs 3,800 for an autopsy.

The staff at Lucknow’s prestigious KGMU Hospital were allegedly seen taking money from the family of a deceased in order to do an autopsy. As a video of the incident went viral, the hospital authorities denied asking for money. The video of KGMU’s Post Mortem House shows the hospital staff allegedly asking the patient’s family to pay Rs 3,800 for the autopsy. Although the video shows the staff asking for money for post-mortem, the hospital authorities have said the men who appear in the video are not members of the staff and they took money for cremation.
