The Civil aviation regulatory authority on Wednesday said that passengers refusing to follow Covid norms will be termed as 'unruly' and will be de-boarded ahead of departure.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday said that passengers refusing to follow Covid appropriate behaviour at airports and flights will be de-boarded ahead of departure.
The order comes after the Delhi High Court asked the regulatory body to initiate action against passengers who don’t wear masks at airports and flights.
The order further states that if any passenger on board an aircraft refuses to wear masks or violates the ‘Covid-19 protocol for passengers’, even after repeated warnings, should be categorized as ‘unruly passenger’ and action should be taken accordingly.
At airports, airport operators have been authorised to penalise passengers as per state law for not adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour and can even be handed over to security agencies.
